Jack Babb

Jack has spent 13 years as a resident actor/director for the International Theater in Vienna,  Some of his favorite credits include: James in “Children of a Lesser God”; Prior Walter in “Angels in America”; Frank in “Educating Rita”; Serge in “Art”; Charley in “The Foreigner”; Elwood P. Dowd in “Harvey”; Roberto in “Death and the Maiden”; Robert in “Betrayal”; Editor Webb in “Our Town”; Saunders in “Lend Me a Tenor”; Half the population of Tuna, Texas in the European premier of “Greater Tuna”; The Nanny, Kate, and Mrs. Willouby in “Baby with the Bathwater”; Jack in “The Completer Works of William Shakespeare Abridged”; Squealer in “Animal Farm”; Dr. Jekyll in “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde”; and (at one time or another) almost every male character in “A Christmas Carol”.  Jack has also scripted and directed eight productions of “A Christmas Carol”, as well as directing “Twelfth Night”;  “The Glass Menagerie”; “An Inspector Calls”; “Look Back in Anger”; “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde”; “The Dresser”; “Beyond Therapy”; “Parallel Lives”;  “Animal Farm”; “Shirley Valentine”; “Lend Me a Tenor”; “Play it Again Sam”; “Three Men in a Boat”; “The Mousetrap”;  “A Life in the Theater”; “Mark Twain’s America”; and “A Phoenix too Frequent” for the International Theater.  While in Vienna, Jack was a regular on the television show∫and has been seen in the television movies “The Lie”, “Mozart”, and “Interrail”.  Stateside, some of Jack’s favorite roles have included:  Sir Andrew in “Twelfth Night”; Mikey in “Sheer Madness”; Eddie in “Musical Comedy Murders of 1940”; Fancourt Babberly in “Charley’s Aunt”; the Teacher in “The Visit”; George Spelvin in “Actors Nightmare”; Fergus in “The Hostage”; and Antoine in “The Baker’s Wife”.  Jack graduated from Stephens College in 1989 with a B.F.A. in Theater.
